The Park of Hope – Sponsored by City of Hope Cancer Center
Coweta Street Park Initiative Steering Committee Announces City of Hope as Named Partner
The Coweta Street Park Initiative Steering Committee has announced that City of Hope Cancer Center Atlanta in Newnan, Georgia, has joined as the named partner for the Coweta Street Park Initiative, a Project of Coweta Community Foundation. This significant commitment from City of Hope will provide essential resources and support for the renovation of the park, aiming to break down barriers by creating a vibrant, inclusive space for the entire community to gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors.
A not-for-profit cancer treatment organization, City of Hope Atlanta’s dedication to fostering community health and well-being aligns with the vision of the Coweta Street Park initiative. With their support, this project will bring vital recreational facilities and green spaces to revitalize what was once a forgotten and deteriorating park. Anticipated completion of the park revitalization is slated for the Fall of 2025.
The park will be proudly named The Park of Hope – Sponsored by City of Hope Cancer Center, reflecting City of Hope’s dedication to fostering community health and well-being. City of Hope's mission is to make hope a reality for all touched by cancer. Founded in 1913, City of Hope has grown into one of the largest and most advanced cancer research and treatment organizations in the U.S., and one of the leading research centers with locations in California, Arizona, Georgia and Illinois. Its flagship location in Los Angeles is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center, which is also ranked as one of the top 5 cancer facilities in the country by U.S. News & World Report. The Newnan location opened in 2012 and has a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in quality and outcomes, which is the best ranking and rating given to healthcare facilities.
