Exciting Progress at Coweta Street Park: Fundraising Success and Playground Construction Underway

We’re thrilled to share several exciting updates from the Coweta Street Park Initiative!
Last week, Janet and John Wood hosted another successful “Playdate in the Park” fundraiser, drawing more than 50 Senoia residents. Thanks to their efforts—and the generous spirit of our community—over $10,000 was pledged to support landscaping enhancements and sun shades for the playground equipment and seating areas. The continued outpouring of support from our neighbors is truly inspiring.

This week marks a major milestone: construction has officially begun on the playground phase of the park. Earthmoving equipment is now on-site as the transformation of the space kicks into high gear. All playground equipment has been ordered, and we’re on track for a grand unveiling at the ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, the new basketball court—already completed—continues to bring joy and activity to the park. Even as construction continues nearby, local kids are making the most of the court, which has quickly become a community favorite.

Stay tuned for more updates in the weeks ahead as we move closer to making Coweta Street Park a reality for all of Senoia.
